Steve Wariner News and Tour Dates

My buddy Tommy Emmanuel recently performed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Feb. 27, and I was able to join him on stage for a couple of songs as a surprise guest.  It was great to be able to jam with him and John Knowles. I love playing on the Ryman stage. This was the first time that all three CGP'S have performed live together and it was nice for the audience to see us play together. If Tommy is touring in your area, I recommend you go see him. Great show. My son Ryan and I went to watch my friend Eric Johnson perform on the 2016 Jimi Hendrix Experience Tour. It was awesome watching him on stage. While I was there, I ran into my buddy Richie Sambora who played with me on the No More More Mr. Nice Guy album several years ago. There are so many great players on this show! We had a great two days hanging out with Eric, catching up and guitar shopping.

Last week I played at the "Country Hits Back" benefit concert for the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center that was held at the Franklin Theater in Franklin, TN. My friend, Wade Hayes, hosted the show and asked me to come perform a couple of songs with him, as well as a few on my own. My friends Miranda Lambert and Kix Brooks also performed. It was a blast! We had so much fun hanging out backstage and swapping stories.It's always cool when you can have that much fun and raise money for such a worthy cause.

I've been in the studio a lot lately, working on my upcoming album as well as joining friends on their new projects.  The one and only Duane Eddy joined me in my studio to cut a song for my next record. It was so great to play with him.  Arlen Roth invited me to his studio to record a song for his next project.  What a thrill that was!  And Electra Mustaine, daughter of my friend Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, asked me to record a song for her upcoming album which was fun to do. What a talented young artist, you need to check her out. I always enjoy recording with my friends – each time is  a different and unique experience.

I'm looking forward to playing Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio on May 6 and Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth on May 7. I hope  all my Texas friends will come out to the shows.  It's always a great time when I come to the Lone Star state!

Well, I guess I better get back to the studio and continue working on my new album.  I can't wait to share it with you. Until then, I'll see you out there on life's highway.
